It’s long been rumored that Tom Cruise’s belief in $cientology not only ended his this marriage to Katie Holmes, but was also the reason he and second wife Nicole Kidman split. On top of that, many suspect Nicole’s mistrust of the church – and the church’s displeasure with her – resulted in the former couple’s adopted children, Isabella and Connor, to distance themselves from their mother, as Kidman would’ve been a ‘suppressive’ person according to the cult Church.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter (via RadarOnline), Nicole gets questioned on the her feelings regarding $cientology, and she is basically not here for that.
“I’ll bet it is,” she says to the reporter, flipping through the pages of the issue. “My eye is going to a dress here – that’s how interested I am in this.”
Despite multiple reports that her adopted children shunned her after her split from Cruise because she was branded a “Suppressive Person” following her departure from the church, Nicole apparently has no hard feelings toward the religion.
“I’ve chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology,” she states. “I have two children who are Scientologists – Connor and Isabella – and I utterly respect their beliefs.”
Translation: they’re all fucking crazy. I’m contractually not able to say anything bad about them, and if I did I’m afraid of what they’d do.
And while Tom continues to let us all be thankful that Katie and Nicole got out while the getting was good.
